I gave these walkie-talkies to my son for his birthday. He and I do not read directions. Regardless, we figured out how to operate them completely in much less than ten minutes! These are modest adequate to hold in the hand, simply operate the calling, speak, listen, channel attributes. We didn't test the, I assume, 20 mile limit, but at 1 block it was fully clear. It comes with a recharger that recharges each units at the exact same time. While this is fantastic enjoyable for my young children and me, it's best for adults. With unlimited cell phone calling now obtainable I am not certain that cell phones aren't even much more helpful, albeit alot more expensive. I highly advocate these walkie-talkies and I give them a solid, "A".
I do not know why these 2-way radio suppliers like to exaggerate the range of the units, but when they list the quantity of range in miles in big numbers on the front of the box, that signifies beneath perfect circumstances like in space from the top of a moon mountain to the valley beneath. On earth you'll be lucky to get two miles, but I discovered that perfectly sufficient for my uses.
Some of the functions (and I read the manual) are hard to figure out.
