Customer Critiques
I honestly have absolutely nothing bad to say about these. They work extremely well--even in regions exactly where we'd have no cell telephone reception--and are really very easy to use. I almost lost one particular in some tall grass when it slid off my belt, but the call function produced it stand out loud and clear. Couple it with a excellent security headset, and 1 of these units is a lot more than dependable.
Nice battery life, hassle-free menu. Range is about 1/two mile line of sight making use of FRS channels. The fault is with the FCC restrictions on transmitter power. Wife and I use them paired with the AVPH1 headsets which functions truly well till you get to about 50 MPH and the wind wipes your voice out. Cautious microphone placement appears to assist relieve this a bit. The belt clip appears sturdy adequate but tends to slip off my belt to easy and the wide part at the best of the clip tends to dig into my hip. They work ok for casual use but under no circumstances would I trust these for any type of emergency use.
