Buyer Critiques
I ski (or board) all day with this earbud and a 280SLK on a NiMH battery. I have used TalkAbouts while skiing for a handful of years - but just got the 280 and the earbud, and it tends to make a Planet of distinction! The 280's lock function lets me pack it down under layers. The earbud and wires stay nicely under layers (hat, shirt, etc) as well. Only the mic sticks out from the side, which I can click to talk at any time. It has been over a foot beneath the snow with my head when I blow a 360 - and nonetheless works perfectly. This earbud is a have to for skiiers (or boarders! I do both.)
This item does specifically what its supposed to do. I do not have an understanding of persons who expected this product to support VOX. It does not say something about VOX in item description. I personally don't like VOX, mainly because I do not want my children to hear what I am saying when I fall down while skiing :-).
Anyway the product is OK. The only situation for me is a quite short wire, that is why I gave it four stars.
