This radio performs very effectively in hilly terrain and is uncomplicated to use. Reception is clear. A single suggestion: the online product advice should certainly indicate that the "R" in EM1000R refers to the reality that the pair of radios comes with a recharging bay (with a slot for every radio). This will make comparison among merchandise clearer.
These are pretty nice radios. I am very pleased with the acquire.
Pros:
- These radios came with a totally free car charger in the box! The sticker on it stated it was for a restricted time..
- They appear nice. They have a high high quality feel to them.
- The rechargable batteries included are the 3 AA cell batteries. That's a plus considering that I can effortlessly use AA alkaline Batteries from the shop if I run out of juice.
- It comes with built-in LED flash light.
Cons:
- The batteries are only 650 mAh Ni-Cd, which are a bit low compared to current NiMH. Perhaps I will throw in a trio of eneloops in if I begin operating out of battery.
- The stand alone charger is a dumb charger which I think keeps on charging when complete (potentially hazardous). The manual is a bit confusing concerning this truth.
